When thinking of biomass, people usually think of wood first, but wood is a small part of biomass fuel potential. Straws and grasses, animal waste, seeds and plants can also be used as biofuel. Anything that can burn and decompose can be used as a biofuel. Different biomass fuels burn differently, but generally each biomass in a compressed form, such as pellets, has a similar heat value, meaning they generate the same heat. So how can we use biomass? Biomass is clean-burning and renewable energy. Based on what’s affordable and available, you can choose which fuel you’ll use to heat your home— in a responsible way.
Bio fuel, burns much more efficiently, is much more practical to transport, and dispensing or feeding the fuel into the appliance is easier and efficient as well. With a compressed and uniform material, the fuel can be used in automated combustion systems such as multi fuel stoves.
